OUR MISSION
PRESERVING THE PAST FOR OUR COMMUNITY AND THE GENERATIONS THAT FOLLOW
To bring an understanding of why “Freedom isn’t Free” to the young people of today by direct inter-acting between Veterans, Holocaust Survivors and students.
To partner G-Star School of the Arts and our students with our local community to create and present to our veterans a permanent tribute to thank them for their service and dedication to our country and our freedom. To actively engage the 180,000 Palm Beach County public school students in this educational process that will help to keep our younger generations involved in the continuous learning of the “war history” of Palm Beach County and America in a “hands-on” approach. To have our younger generation of today understand the sacrifices that have been made, and that they may have to make themselves someday, to keep our country free.
Phase 1 of our project is our Victory Canteen Multi-Purpose Educational & Cultural Facility . This state-of-the-art building will be an entertainment/café venue that will be used by our students for theatrical productions, assemblies, cafeteria, testing, etc. The Canteen will be open to all veterans organizations and Armed Forces to use free of charge for ceremonies, seminars, etc. The World War II Canteen will be home to our “World War II in Palm Beach County” displays, our donor wall and our “Wall of Honor” for our local World War II heroes.
The World War II Experience will be a very unique learning experience of World War II and The Holocaust. This is a 3-phase project that will consist of 4 newly constructed futuristic buildings. Inside the buildings will be an experience like you've never seen before. You will walk through 32,000 sq. ft. of authentically re-created World War II battle grounds and experience our country's victories, including the liberation of Dachau Concentration Camp by U.S. soldiers. You will also experience our Capitol if the German's had won the war. Each "experience" will have images on interactive screens all around you to fully immerse you into each experience. Also in these buildings will be 2 interactive museums, 14 interactive classrooms & a World War II & Holocaust Research Center.
Phase 1 includes the construction of the Victory Canteen Multi-Purpose Educational & Cultural Facility. Phase 2 includes the construction of our Victory over Europe (V-E) building. This will be a 25,000 sq. ft. futuristic building consisting of 5 "experiences", The American Liberation of the Holocaust Interactive Museum, and 8 classrooms. Phase 3 will include the construction of our Victory over Japan (V-J) building. This will be a 20,000 sq. ft. futuristic building that will house 3 of the "experiences", The Veteran's and Fallen Heroes Interactive Museum and 6 classrooms. Phase 3 will also include the building of The World War II and Holocaust Research Center.
