G-Star School of the Arts for Film, Animation and Performing Arts, is a public charter high school in Palm Springs, Florida, that is funded by the State of Florida and was founded by Greg Hauptner.  The school has been financially solvent since its inception.  G-Star opened its doors to 150 students in August 2003 with this mission in mind…To prepare and educate students to demonstrate mastery in the Arts and Academics (Artademics), to achieve physical, social, emotional and intellectual wellness, and to implement career goals and strategies.  We are proud to be celebrating our 12th year and now have grown to 1100 students and 104 employees.

G-Star School of the Arts is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization in Palm Springs, FL that has some very unique factors:

•           G-Star is a publicly funded college preparatory high school.

•           G-Star is the largest Film, Animation and Performing Arts high school in the nation.  All 1100 of our students are involved in these disciplines.

•           G-Star is a high performing International Baccalaureate World School (IB).  IB Schools are the highest level of academic learning in high schools worldwide.  The International headquarters for IB World Schools is in Switzerland. 

•           G-Star is a nationally accredited, “A-rated” school and is designated a “High Performing School” by the Florida Department of Education.

•           G-Star is ranked academically in the top 1.2% in the nation by The Washington Post.

•           G-Star has been given the “Silver School Award for Academic Excellence” by the US News & World Report.

•           G-Star graduates up to 99% of its students with 97% going on to college.

•           G-Star is the only high school in the world that owns a commercial motion picture studio (G-Star Studios).  The G-Star Studios Sound Stage 1 is the largest in the State of Florida and the most technologically advanced in the world.

•           G-Star is the only high school that offers a “hands-on” experience in the Film Industry with students working on sets with film industry professionals as part of our school program.

•           G-Star Studios is the only motion picture studio that donates 100% of its profits to education.

•           G-Star’s involvement in the community includes annual volunteer work with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department, CIA, FBI, TSA, Homeland Security, Palm Springs Police Department and Palm Beach State College. 

•           G-Star offers free vendor space to Veterans and Holocaust organizations at our fundraising events. 

•           G-Star is well-known as one of the safest schools in the nation – no drugs, no bullies, no profanity.
